CNC OPERATORS - Metro Detroit

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Vertical Mill, EZ Track, Lath Hand, Bridge Port, Must be able to Read Blue Prints.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
  • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; trimming heads.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Must be able to work flexible hours 1st and 2nd Shift
  • Prefer at least 2 years of Experience

NEW VEHICLE DRIVERS - Multiple locations throughout the Toledo and Detroit areas

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
• Ensuring vehicles are parked in proper locations
• Driving vehicles to and from specified locations and inspecting cars to detect damage
• Moving vehicles from staging areas to shipping bay location
• Adhering to safety procedures and ensuring yard quality standards are maintained
• Looking for lost units, doing daily clean up, and performing any other duties assigned by lead or manager
• Moving in excess of 40 vehicles per day

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License (at least 8 years)
• Clean Driving Record
• Ability to pass a drug test and background check
• Ability to follow directions, both written and verbal
• Ability to adhere to strict quality standards without variance and
• Ability to interact with others effectively
• Ability to communicate diplomatically
• Ability to work as a team or individually depending on workload
• Good visual ability

This work is primarily conducted outside – You must work and walk in all kinds of weather.

RAIL LOADERS - Multiple locations throughout the Toledo and Detroit areas

We are hiring several full-time Rail Loaders for our multiple locations throughout the greater Toledo and Metro Detroit areas. You must have a valid Driver’s License, be ok with working outside 100% of the time and in all weather conditions. This is a very fast paced location running 7 days a week and up to 12 hours a day. You must be physically capable of performing job duties.

These positions train on day shift and then will be put in the open shifts that are needed which can include evenings and nights. You MUST be flexible with all shifts and have availability for weekends. Shifts usually run 8-12 hours.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
This position prepares railcars for loading, drives vehicles onto proper railcars, secures vehicles to railcars according to manufacturer and American Association of Railroad standards, and prepares railcars for transportation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES & TASKS:
• Drive vehicles onto rail cars
• Secure vehicles on the rail cars using chocks or chains
• Set bridge plates
• Raise and lower decks
• Set buck ramp
• Store chocks or chains
• Inspect vehicles for damage
• Report damage or miss bays to lead, supervisor, or manager
• Train new employees
• Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
• Maintain a positive behavior and conduct in the workplace while acting and communicating with other customers, vendors, co-workers, and management

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Have knowledge of hand tools (wrenches, screwdrivers, ratchets, etc.…)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must have and maintain a valid State Driver’s License and a good driving record
• Must have a good sense of balance and have the ability to maintain 3 points of contact
• Ability to drive both automatic and manual transmission vehicles
• Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
• Must be able to work in tight spaces when loading vehicles
• Must be able to work at heights approximately 15 feet above the ground
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs over your head
• Must be able to push, pull or carry up to 85 lbs
• Ability to stand, walk and work outdoors in various weather conditions

YARD LEAD - Various Detroit area & Toledo locations

Well-established, high profile Finished Vehicle Logistics Company is seeking Yard Coordinators for various Metro Detroit Area & Toledo locations.

The working hours for the shift are TBD; Weekend work is mandatory.

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
• Supporting plant production
• Building and dispatching loads for transportation carriers

Responsible individuals needed to drive new vehicles safely from point A to point B in a designated area.

REQUIREMENTS:
• This position involves climbing in and out of vehicles repeatedly so you must be active and able to bend frequently
• This position takes place 100 % outdoors so you must be able to work in all weather situations
• This position requires weekend work and you must be available to work any day of the week as well as up to 6 days a week possible including 10 hour shifts
• Stick shift drivers are preferred
• You must have clean driving record and be able to pass pre-employment screening including a drug screen
• GED/DIPLOMA is required
